Chapter 11 — Vishwaroop Darshan Yoga

manyase yadi tacchakyam mayā draşțumiti prabho

yogeśvara tato me tvam darśayātmānamavyayam

🕉 English Translation

Prabho! Mante ho agar aap yeh,

Mai darshan ka adhikari hun aapke.

Toh yogeshwar itni kripa karo,

Avinashi roop apna dikhla hee do.

📜 Translation English

O Lord! If it is possible for me to see this aspect of Yours, if You think that, then O Yogeshwar! Show to me that imperishable form of Yours.

💬 Commentary English

This kind of eagerness accompanied by faith to know is a sign of an awakened seeker. By saying thus Arjun has not displayed any doubt in any manner on the statement made by the Lord, but has shown his eagerness towards having a vision of His universal form. This statement of Kabir that till I have seen with my own eyes I will never accept what my teacher tells me; there is no disrespect towards the words of the teacher but the eagerness to experience directly what the teacher has taught.

Without the keenness to know elevation is not possible at all. Lack of enthusiasm on our part is a hurdle on the path of upliftment or in having the experience of the Divine. Think when anyone describes any business, fair, exhibition or any attractive scene; then there develops keenness inside us to know about it. Here the Lord Himself is telling so much about Himself and is even stating to this extent that just by a part of My brilliance I am supporting the entire universe. Why such eagerness will not awaken, that a part of whose radiance in the form of Nature can be so beautiful and attractive, that Supreme Himself will be much more beautiful, attractive and enchanting? Arjun heard and his eagerness has awakened-

The way of putting forward his eagerness is also so sober, simple and humble. The keenness filled with egoism is meaningless; there is nothing to be achieved by it. Arjun has made his statement with great humility, Lord if You feel that I deserve to have a vision of Yours, then bestow this grace on me. On hearing such a humble request why would the Lord have not given honour to such emotions? The Lord too desires the humility of the seeker. The one who bends is the one who gains. The Lord immediately displayed His pleasure. Arjun's humility at that moment compelled the Lord to say --
