damştrākarālāni ch te mukhāni dṛṣṭvaiva kālānalasannibhāni

Mukh pralaya agni hain dadhen vishal,
Nahin janta mai dishayon ka haal.
Shanti nahin mil rahi hai mujhe,
Prabho! Mujh par prasann ho jayeya.
On seeing Your mouth blazing like the fire of dissolution and terrifying due to large tusks I lose sense of direction and find no peace. That is why, O Lord of the Devas! Abode of the universe! Be gracious.

When the human being is extremely terrified then his worldly or spiritual knowledge gets somewhat veiled. The state of fear agitates and destroys peace of the person. Here the form is that of the Lord but Arjun is yet to know Him in essence. If he had come to know that all is His form only, that exactly opposite expressions of both beauty and fierceness exist simultaneously in Him, then he would have known that for this reason He is Brahmn. But in imagination and emotions he had visualized Him as pleasant and beautiful. But what is visible is a fearsome state-
Large tusks and the fire of dissolution are emitting from the mouth; Arjun has been blessed with the divine sight due to the special grace of the Lord; in his inmost self the worldly attachment still persists. Its is even on viewing the universal form Arjun is still not at peace with himself and desires that now somehow or the other, the Lord should remove the sight of His dreadful form. The words used to address the Lord as God of the gods and the abode of the universe is pointing to this very fact, that I am acknowledging that You are the Lord of all gods and the entire creation dwells in You. I am accepting the essence of your cosmic form in this manner. Now bestow Your grace on Me and be pleased with me. Withdraw this dreadful form of Yours because in this form I can see this-
