sudurdarśamidam rūpam drşțavānasi yanmama
devā apyasya rūpasya nityam darśanakāńkşinah
Dekha jo tune mera roop yeh,
Durlabh bahut iska darshan bhi hai.
Isse roop ko dekhne ke liye,
Sadaa devat bhi taraste rahen.

This four-armed form of Mine which you have viewed is very rare indeed to see. Even the gods are ever longing to behold this form of mine.

Arjun was bestowed with grace in natural manner. The vision of the universal form was not an ordinary event; it was not easy to have. But it became possible for Arjun. It is true that Arjun had prayed for the vision of cosmic form with reverence, faith and humility; even then it was made possible only by divine grace. When the vision of the cosmic form was over and the Lord assuming a normal and serene form was in front of Arjun and he was restored to his normal calm state; that he should not take this event lightly or just as an ordinary one; the Lord gives a clear hint:
What to say of ordinary human beings, even the gods yearn for such a vision of the divine form but even for them such a vision is a rarity. The birth in the category of gods is attained by virtuous deeds. Due to the accumulation of virtuous deeds such desire can be there, but due to lack of determination for the goal and single-pointedness for the attainment of the divine, the virtuosity gets limited to just sensual indulgences, the delight of such a vision cannot be had by even such gods. This is due to special, very special grace bestowed on Arjun, that such a divine vision was made possible for him, because-
