💬 Commentary English

To take up the subject which has begun and explain every aspect of it, to go into its depth and then to explain that profound subject in an easy graspable manner is the natural nature of the Lord. He is the Supreme father of all. His purpose is not just to preach or to display His wisdom. All these are situations which relate to narrowness. Here the essential truth is of a pervasive and vast nature. Why and how should the father limit the knowledge of his son to just superficial knowledge? The father would desire that what he wants his son to understand, the son is able to comprehend it well! Such emotions towards the embodied being of the Supreme Father and the Supreme Lord Shri Krishna are being reflected in this verse-

The Blessed Lord wants to make clear every aspect of the relationship between the field and its knower. What is the body and what is its nature, what is its source, what kind of modifications occur in it-all this will be made clear in this chapter. Along with this who is the knower of the field, the embodied being and what are his powers-all this too has been explainexd. Here the words source and modification are used in the context of the field and not in the context of the knower of the field. The matter is amply clear. Origin and modification is associated with the body; the soul is neither born nor does it undergo modification. For this reason with the knower of the field the word 'yatprabhavasca' (powers) has been used with great dexterity. Powers all belong to the knower of the field. But what are the powers and their nature? The eagerness should continue for reading and listening. From the end of the Blessed Lord, the Gita is shower of the nectar of knowledge. One has to take care of one's ability to gather it.

The Gita is the essence of all scriptures; every issue relating to self-upliftment has been dealt in it, but the wonderful art of saying it precisely and concisely and to make it understandable is that of the Lord (tatsamasena me srnu).

Is there any elaboration of this essence? The Lord Himself is revealing with clarity-
