jñeyam yattatpravakṣyāmi yajjñātvāmṛtamaśnute
anādimatparam brahma na sattannāsaducyate
Sunn mujhse ab janane yogya jo,
Jise jaan kar param anand ho.
Anadi par brahmn usko samajh,
Keh na saken jisko sat ya asat.
The one which is worth knowing and by knowing which the being experiences immortality or the supreme bliss, that I will describe to you well. That beginningless Supreme Brahmn is called neither existence nor non existence.
Please fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
What is worth knowing-this is something which is important and deserves consideration. Throughout life the embodied being remains entangled in acquiring information about the empirical world. He gets to know a lot, despite all this, he still feels restless and unsatiated! The same dilemma and uncertainties prevail. Hear the divine words of the Lord and accept them eagerly with a thrilled mind. 'Yajjnatvamrtmasnute' knowing which one enjoys immortality. On knowing a lot in the world the keenness to know moré and more persists; nothing substantial is gained; but this knowable reality is such that by knowing which one enjoys supreme bliss and absolute contentment, nothing further remains to be known, nothing remains to be achieved nor anything worth doing! This is the state of being totally at peace during one's lifetime and after giving up the body the state of immortality exists. This is immortality in true sense. What is that essential principle? Describing this the Lord says-
"Param Brahmn" that essential principle is nothing else; it is the absolute transcendental supreme Brahmn! From whom creation originates, is sustained and in whom it will dissolve! The One Who is Immutable, Immortal, Imperishable Truth, Consciousness, Bliss, That is the Supreme Brahmn, which existed prior to creation and will remain after creation has dissolved. There is an end to the creation but not for that Supreme Brahmn as That does not have a beginning that is beginningless.
'Na sattannasaducyate'-That can neither be called existent nor non-existent. Otherwise, that is existence and non-existence too; as apart from it there exists nothing in the least! But as That exceeds all types of words, evidences, whatever That is, that is That. The sun is light itself; what kind of imagination there can be of night and day in it! The day can only be differentiated when the darkness of the night descends. Then one will be able to discern that this is not night but day. Similar is the state of existence and non-existence! That energy is indescribable; no proof is needed to establish it. There can be no assumption if any non-existence is there. To establish the Truth by means of words needs the help of the unreal. The words cannot reach there. There silence is the language. Where speech falls silent, senses become silent too, the mind and intellect are also silent, there the Lord can be found, transcending all, beyond all, superior to all-beginningless, boundless, Supreme Brahmn-neither being nor non-being! Come and let us move towards experiencing That. The essence of it will be known only through experience as to what that nectar is? What is that knowable truth? Further elaboration is found in the ensuing verse.
