Some great persons see it as wonder, others speak of the essence of it as a wonder, and another enlightened person hears it as a wonder but some having heard still does not understand it.

💬 Commentary English

It is absolutely important but mysterious is this verse of the Gita. Kaschiddenam - a very rare person attains the ability to hear, describe and see this Truth principle. The attraction of the world sensual pleasure, external beauty, grandeur, charm keeps every one attracted towards it. Everyone is in the slumber of delusion and is in the grip of the disease of ignorance; the transient is appearing to be permanent; bondage is being taken as liberation; in sorrow one is imagining pleasure.

Among thousands of men one strives for my attainment and amongst those striving yogis only one dedicated to Me comes to know Me in all the principles of my existence. First of all some rare people gain the ability to hear and narrate the essential soul principle and amongst those the state of knowing the Reality in essence is still more rare. Shrutvapyayenam ved na chaiva kaschit - on hearing also one does not come to know of it. Hearing is of significance, very necessary and useful. But hearing is not enough. After hearing is reflection and then in the practical laboratory nidhidhaysan and experiencing in the state of meditation. The Gita is not just a scripture of oral recitation. It is also not just a scripture of giving knowledge pertaining to religion; this is an outstanding scripture of practical life.
