avācyavādāṁśca bahūn vadiṣyanti tavāhitāḥ

nindantastava sāmarthyaṁ tato duḥkhataraṁ nu kim

🕉 English Translation

Shakti teri jante huye sab,

Ninda karenge tere bairee sab.

Vachan veh kahenge jo na kahene yogya,

Hoga bhala badhke isse kya shok

📜 Translation English

Your enemies speaking ill of your capabilities will speak unseemly words. What is worse grief than that?

💬 Commentary English

It is proper that the human being should not forsake his duty arising from his social position. Fleeing in any form is not acceptable to the Gita. Arjun wants to become an ascetic. He wants to live on alms. The Blessed Lord says, "Parth! neither you are in a state that you can attain perfecton as an ascetic, because this dispassion is arising from attachment and in discernment. Dispassion arising from attachment will draw you again into this world of attachments and illusion. Nor you will perfect the worldly conduct because you will be called as an escapist, deserter and coward in this world; infamy will be your destiny. But on the other hand–
