Please fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
The essence of this chapter. After clarifying and making Himself understood, a straight decision is made. The mystery is totally unravelled! Arjun! Now abandon all kinds of dilemma. What is imperative to be done, perform that!
'Manmana bhava' Allow your mind to dwell in Me. All problems are due to the mind; though even the mind is nothing. The mind has no existence. It consists of just the flow of thoughts; but it is involved in the world. The worry and concern is for the world only! Because the world is taken to be everything. Change this thought. Without the Lord, the world does not have any existence and importance! The very Lord due to whom everything else and this world is, give greater importance to Him. He is our very own and the sole companion in this world and the world beyond. He is the only support, the basis of eternal happiness; everything is happening due to His power, has been bestowed by His grace. When such an attitude develops then the mind will turn towards God. He will dwell in His thoughts; the mind will naturally feel engrossed in Him. Just not limited to this, but the state of becoming the devotee of the Lord will be automatically attained. By giving greater importance to the world the embodied being becomes devoted to the world, meaning becomes a slave of sensual objects. Make the Lord your own and become His. This is meant by 'madbhakta' be My devotee. Once you have become the devotee of the Lord then only He will be worshipped. Some time will be devoted to worship Him sincerely and along with it every action due to the feeling of oneness with Him will become His worship. The first act should be-taking the name of the Lord and then dedicating all actions to Him.
That all this should be meaningful, it is necessary to have humility and to be devoid of egoism. 'Mam namaskuru' should not be restricted in the form of action to just salutation, that too is necessary; that the inner ego should be surrendered, that is essential.
'Manmana bhav madbhakto madyaji mam namaskuru'
The spirit expressed up to this line of the verse is also found as it is in the 65th verse of the 18th chapter. The entire state is of naturally and completely immersing oneself in the Lord. The mind harmonized with the Lord and becoming His every act; an act of His worship, with not even the trace of egoism.
One will remain in the world till one is destined to bear the fruits of past action; one will have to do so, but one should not be devoted to the world and not to seek its support. One can get deceived, and the mind can get broken on the loss and destruction or annoyance of the support from any one. This is the way of the world; that is why 'matprayanah' the sole shelter should be that of the Lord! Do all these but further is given the divine assurance-'mamevaisyasi' You can attain Me but if you are inclined towards the world, even then the world will not become yours! Even if it is attained, it will be partial and that too for ultimately to be parted with, to keep one entangled in happiness and sorrow consequently for trapping one in the cycle of repetitive births and death; that God is attained, make efforts in that direction. This verse and in fact the entire chapter provides inspiration for this.
This chapter began with calling Arjuna as the one free from quibble, and relating the most secretive of the secret knowledge with the purpose of elucidating knowledge as well as the experience of it!
Some profound secret facts were revealed. The creation exists in the Lord and at the same time does not exist in Him. The Supreme dwells in all beings and does not do so too; this startling inspiring expression is the profundity of this chapter.
The ones who do not know the Lord who are of demoniac nature and the ones who know Him and are imbued with divine qualities, have been described along with the nature of devotion, and then by the Blessed Lord Himself the open revelation of His very nature, the worship of the deities with the motive of reward and attainment of heaven and even after that, the persistence of the repeated cycle of birth and death, such a warning has been given. Then follows the inspiration to make the devotee devoted to the Lord, making such a devotee anxiety-free by giving him assurance of procuring and protecting his needs and acquisitions, performance of actions by offering them to the Lord and the glory of self-surrender and by calling Himself as impartial towards all and one, giving a great inspiring assurance for His own attainment, this chapter of Royal secret and Royal knowledge reaches its conclusion.
To Conclude:
In this chapter, the Lord is revealing the mystery of His own nature; take this to be the special intimacy of the Lord for yourself. Become Arjun! Arjun is free from fault-finding; for him was revealed the mystery. Let us also develop such an inclination and nature; allow the indwelling reverence to come to the surface; then definitely we will also experience that there is no secret; the Lord is our very own and is for us and is close to us. His attainment is the supreme goal and that is not beyond reach; it is possible, is not very difficult; is easy! Come and let us make the divine inspiration from this chapter the practical inspiration in our life. The grace of Lord Krishna should always be the guiding light for everyone.
Thus with the recitation of these divine names 'Om Tat Sat', Divine knowledge (Brahmavidya) and Scripture of Yoga in the Upanishad of the glorious Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, the dialogue between Shri Krishna and Arjun the 9th chapter entitled as the Yoga of Imperishable Supreme, stands completed.
Hari Om Tat Sat! Hari Om Tat Sat!! Hari Om Tat Sat!!!
