samo'haṁ sarvabhūteşu na me dvesyo'sti na priyaḥ
ye bhajanti tu māṁ bhaktyā mayi te teșu cāpyaham
Barabar hain sab jeev mere liye,
Hai premi na dweshi na koyee bhi mujhe.
Magar shraddha se bhajte mujhko hain jo,
Mai un me hun aur rehte mujme hain woh.
I am equal in all existences; there is none who is hateful to Me i. e. I have no aversion towards anyone nor is anyone dear to Me. But the ones who worship Me with devotion they are in Me and I too am directly manifested in them.

The Lord can never be partial. He is an absolutely impartial power. All beings owe their existence to Him and are in Him. Here the matter does not relate just to the human being, 'sarvabhutesu' it pertains to all beings. Whether one is big or small, poor or rich, literate or illiterate-even to the extent that one may be a believer or a non-believer; not just the human being, even in the tiny ant or the mammoth elephant the divine consciousness exists equally in all. Elelctrical appliances may be big or small; the current is the same in all! There is no differentiation in the divine consciousness, neither is there any special affection nor aversion towards anyone; until now one issue is clear; but further follows the description with great adroitness of a mysterious situation:
It appears that there is partiality in the Lord; but it is not so. This is the glory of devotion. The distinction between a good or bad son is not the partiality of the father but due to his own positive qualities the son may be good. For the mother all children are equal; but the youngest child who is totally dependent on the mother, the mother will definitely devote special attention to him. The sun shines equally everywhere; but in the burning mirror its rays are reflected with great intensity and in the wood...? This difference is not due to any special favour of the sun but because of the merits of the object concerned.
The devotee becomes dedicated to the divine. When the devotee cannot remain without the Lord then the Lord too cannot remain without such a devotee. With the water of love-filled devotion the devotee is able to make his inner-self so pure that harmony with the Lord is achieved by itself. But the one who cannot dedicate himself to this extent, the evil tendencies persist in the inner-self. Then what will happen to them? See the large-heartedness of the Blessed Lord and His splendid liberality:
