O King! On recalling the secretive, wondrous and elevating dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjun, I am thrilled with joy again and again.

💬 Commentary English

This verse is a sweet example of the glorious product of Sanjay's emotional dedication, self-surrender towards the sermon of the Gita. The sermon of the Gita has been assimilated by Sanjay. This fact is also amply clear. Sanjay just did not hear it with his ears but he associated his entire emotions and inner faith with the inspirations from the Gita. In fact, this state is possible.

Now no dialogue between Shri Krishna and Arjun is taking place. Sanjay himself has acknowledged that it has concluded. He heard the dialogue with faith and reverence; it made an impression on the canvas of his memory. The dialogue was not an ordinary one, was not between common people. It was held between the Lord incarnate Shri Krishna and great soul Arjun. Each and every expression is powerful enough to destroy the roots of the sorrow of life. The discussion on the very nature of the Lord Himself who is mysterious, divinity of the analysis of Soul principle, the discussion of man of stable intellect, man of yoga, devotee, man of knowledge, person who has transcended the attributes, etc. and the generous assurance of the Lord, his endearing address—if they have made their impact on the canvas of memory, then there is no reason whatsoever that thrill, joy, delight will not get generated! In fact, the discussion of the Lord is such, if once it takes hold of the mind, then it draws the mind towards itself time and again; it should also draw one's attention, which is a very good sign. This is a very valuable and marvellous state of the joy of life. The more the attention is drawn to it and more the dialogues are repeated in the memory, the more will be the delight which will be experienced again and again. Come and let us make this divine experience of Sanjay the experience of our life; maintain the absorption in divine emotions.
