Chapter 16 — Daivasursampada Vibhag Yoga

Verse 8
🕉 Original Sanskrit Shloka

asatyamapratisṭhaṁ te jagadāhuraniśvaram

aparasparasambhūtaṁ kimanyatkāmahaitukam

🕉 English Translation

Sansar ko jhuta kehte hain woh,

Na aadhar koyi bina ish ke.

Ho apas ke sanyog se hee paida,

Seva kaam ke aur karan hai kya.

📜 Translation English

These persons of demoniac nature say that this world is not true and is without basis, and without the Lord, and is brought about by mutual union of the male and the female. Only lust is its cause. What else could be the reason apart from this?

💬 Commentary English

The main reason for fall from humanity has been made explicit in the previous verse. No discernment between right and wrong being there; it is natural for such imaginary things to arise in the mind. Who is the Lord and where is He? Creation is carrying on its own. Righteousness, actions, reciting of the name of the Lord and austerity, worship and reading of the scriptures, performance of rituals before sacrificial fire and sacrifices do not have any truth in them, are not required; there is no benefit to be derived from them. In the birth of human beings also they have no role to play; only the propensity of passion is the cause. There is no role of the Divine power in this etc. These kinds of misleading thoughts you will invariably find in the present society. The words stated in the form of warning five thousand five hundred years ago approximately from today are found to have such great relevance in the society of today!
