Discrimination is the most precious wealth of human existence. The differentiation between right-wrong, it is possible only with the help of discrimination. For the horse the reins are essential; otherwise, the horse will become uncontrollable. Discrimination is the rein in human life. In the absence of discrimination indiscipline is definite.
The greatest difficulty and the irony of life is this only-the absence of ability to discriminate between right and wrong. What ought to be done and what ought not to be done-if one does not realise this in life, then think what and where will lie the destination, interest and the state of life. What is not worth doing towards that will build enthusiasm, and there will be indifference, avoidance of what is worth doing. How can the purity of food, behaviour, thoughts, etc. remain? The regard towards mother-father, the respect towards teachers, the contemplation, etc. of the Lord Who has given life and everything in life, etc. these etiquettes will disappear from life! Furthermore, there will also not remain the etiquettes for speaking, seeing, sitting, moving, etc; There will be no truthfulness in the mind, speech and actions. There will be ones' own imagined notions; untruth will be considered truth. That is why the Blessed Lord is cautioning further.
