tasmādajñānasambhūtaṁ hṛtsthaṁ jñānāsinātmanaḥ
chittvainaṁ saṁśayaṁ yogamātiṣṭhottiṣṭha bhārata
Sanshaya jo utpann hai agyan se,
Khadag gyan ki leke kar nashta yeh.
Jama samta ke yoga mein apne ko,
Uth Arjun!Ho tayyaar yudh karne ko.
Therefore, O scion of Bharat clan, Arjun! You should cut as under from your heart this doubt born of ignorance by the sword of knowledge and establishing yourself in the equanimous Yoga of Action; arise for the battle.
Please fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
By using arguments, logic and illustrations, inspirations and warnings to put forward His view now the Blessed Lord in the beginning of the concluding verse is using the word 'tasmat'; I have made you understand and now it is your turn to act. Now you act in this manner. Arjun's mind was full of doubts whether to engage in the war or not. What will be the fate of the clan and family? What will be state of the departed ancestors? Will evil practices spread? How can there be welfare in spilling the blood on one's relatives, whether they will conquer or we will conquer them? At this moment Lord Krishna is placed in front of Arjun as an effective teacher. Parth! Now you should destroy the doubt born of ignorance with the sword of knowledge.
Take it for certainty; any evil tendency, habit, born out of doubt or ignorance has to be eradicated with firm determination. Indolence, laxity will not work. Mental debility, laxity can damage the situation. The Lord has asked for cutting the roots of indulgences which bind one to the world through the powerful weapon of detachment. (Gita 15/3) Along with this, again there is the repetition of the fact of being established in Yoga (yogamatisth) Worldly indulgences can never allow one to stand upright and even if it happens then it is sure to cause a fall; that is why yogamatisthottistha bharata.
O Descendant of Bharat clan, Arjun! Arise, awake and stand up for your duty. Matter does not pertain just to Arjun and is not for Arjun only. To take the benefit of the inspiration from the Gita we should take ourselves to be Arjun and what is meant by Bharata? O children of Bharata! Yoga and Knowledge is your glory. Bharat-bha+rat, where the children are naturally immersed in the light of knowledge.
Now do not further delay. The time is passing speedily. One is advancing in age, and the opportunity is now; when one will get such a chance is not certain. As the opportunity has been given now, one should soon and without delay take advantage of it. When the Blessed Lord Himself is giving such an inspiration for us-on attaining knowledge without delay there is attainment of supreme peace! And what an affection filled way of arousing! Without delay become vigilant towards your duty; arise and avoid the delay. The inspirations from the fourth chapter of the Gita should now awaken us firmly. Resolve to be so and if any problem is faced then with humility pray to the Omnipotent Lord Krishna. The Purpose will be accomplished, have complete faith. There is no place for even an iota of doubt.
