tadviddhi praṇipātena paripraśnena sevayā
upadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ jñāninastattvadarśinaḥ

Jakar gyani ke paas pranaam kar,
Prashna puchh seva mein reh tatpar.
Tatva janane wale gyani hain jo,
Denge tujhe gyaan updesh woh.

Acquire this knowledge through men of knowledge who have seen the Truth Principle. By humbly prostrating before them, serving them and leaving aside deceit, by honestly putting questions to them, these men of wisdom, great souls, actual knowers of the Truth Principle will instruct you in that Supreme knowledge.
Birth after birth the embodied being is continuing to be ensnared and entangled in the manoeuvrings of ignorance. The thought of getting liberated from it also does not occur. Knowledge is inside but the being is living in delusion and ignorance. If the inner light of knowledge is to be awakened then the help and guidance of a knower is necessary. For awakening the sleeping one a push is needed. The knower is the torch bearer; he has seen the light. He is capable of showing the path of light. He is a 'tattvadarshi' the knower of the Real. He has not only studied books but has realized in essence-'tattvadarshi'.
The way to avail of the benefit of the knower's knowledge has been clarified in a simple manner. Three things are required: Pranam (prostration), Pariprasna (putting questions) and Seva (service). Prostration is the symptom of humility. One has to let go of false pride. The state of ego has to end. This alone qualifies one for getting knowledge. Without getting rid of ego it is not possible to absorb knowledge. The pride of knowing is also an obstruction. Come with an empty mind. Prostration is not just a physical act-it is an expression of inner humility. Put questions honestly, not with any intention to defeat the knower or to make a display of one's own intellect. Questions born of true curiosity and the desire to know the truth are genuine questions. Service-not for seeking any material gain or selfish end but unalloyed service, a genuine desire to serve the knower. Such a seeker is worthy of knowledge. The knower of Truth will surely enlighten you.
