📜 Translation English

Undoubtedly, in this world there is no purifier equal to knowledge. The man perfected through the Yoga of Action in due course finds this knowledge in himself by his Self.

💬 Commentary English

The main issue relates to the purity of inmost Self. All means-sacrifice, charity, austerity, study of Self through scriptures, recitation of mantras, worship and rituals-are for purifying the inmost Self. All are good and useful; none can be negated. But the Lord says that there is no means equal to knowledge. All other means are aids to acquire knowledge; when there is light of knowledge inside then instantaneously the veil of impurities, agitations are removed; there is no delay in it.

The seeker resorting Yoga of Action should not get shaken and think that as he is involved in action, how shall he attain knowledge? Dilemma can arise. The mind can get agitated due to both counts; for this reason the Gita's preacher stresses that stick to your means. Resort to the Yoga of Action in its entirety. When the Yoga of Action is perfected, that is, while engaging in action there will remain no desire, attachment and egoism; there will be complete absence of the arrogance of doership. In that state nothing special is to be done for attaining knowledge. Even a profound topic like knowledge has been made to look simple by the Blessed Lord. This is the uniqueness of the Gita's sermon. This scripture is in reality easily understandable and comprehensible. Each subject has been taken up in such an easy and simple manner, that it is easily understood and experienced.
