The words mother and father are the most revered words of the Indian eternal culture. Here the description relates to the birth of the forms of all types beings. Nature has been addressed as the mother and the Supreme as the father.
The birth may be of any kind-Gods, humans, animals, birds, insects and flying insects. In them-aquatic terrestrial and aerobic-the mother and father of all are one only. This is one of the ways to look at things. If one sees from the angle of essential truth principle, then mother is the same and the father too. The Lord is the mother and father and in the form of mother and father is the Lord. At the commencement of the chapter the Lord expresses His desire to describe the supreme knowledge. To imbibe this knowledge it is necessary to know what the primordial cause for the birth of one's own and all other bodies is. The goal of knowledge is to lift the predisposition from the accustomed propensity of associating with the body or nature and to establish it in the Lord who is Truth, Consciousness and Bliss. If this does not happen then the being will be under the bondage of the qualities which originate from Nature. See further discussions which follow-
