O Arjun! My primordial nature is the place of origin of creation and I cast the seed into the womb from which are born all beings.

Atheists believe that all is happening in Nature by Nature. Nature is performing her own function. This verse of the Gita is an answer to such an atheistic belief-
Prakiti in itself is inert. The power of consciousness is only that of the Lord. Here the discussion pertains to the primordial nature. Once the resolution for creation is taken, that which came into existence and support of which was taken by the Lord for creating. As it came into existence from the Supreme that is why the word 'mum' (my primordial nature) was used. 'Yonirmahadbrahm'-nature of the Lord but yet not independent in the creation of beings.
Tasmin garbham dadhamyaham'-it is the Lord who has cast the seed of divine consciousness in the womb of nature. Nature is inert. On associating with the Lord's consciousness she becomes conscious. The body is just a mass of flesh and bones. On acquiring consciousness it becomes active and energetic. Accept this reality. The relationship should not be with the inert nature; attachment should not be with just the body; go to the base of it all. From nature reach the primordial nature, and further than this even the substratum of this primordial nature-the divine essence will be found to be happily experienced.
