sattvātsañjāyate jñānaṁ rajaso lobha eva ch
pramādamohau tamaso bhavato'jñānameva ch

Paida satoguna se ho gyan hee,
Rajoguna se utpatti ho lobh ki
Pramad aur moh tamoguna se ho,
Utpann kare yeh hee agyan ko.

English
From satoguna arises knowledge and from rajoguna greed; tamoguna leads to indolence, delusion as well as ignorance.
Once again in summary the description of the fruits of three types of actions performed under the influence of three types of attributes! From satoguna knowledge arises; the purification of the inner-self is the natural corollary of the satvic action. In the pure inner-self descends the radiance of knowledge. One is bound to have the knowledge of the good and the bad and also the sense of discrimination between real and unreal, sentience and insentience. If rajoguna prevails then inclination towards greed will increase. There will always be hankering to acquire something or the other. Actions will be desire-filled; then more desire and the craving to have more and more-this is greed.
If tamoguna predominates in life it will give birth to inactivity. Under the enchantment of delusion the being will never be able to do anything good. Bewildered, deluded, he will remain immersed in evil.
Now follows the description of the state of the being after giving up the body on the predominance of any of the three attributes.
