The supreme status, supreme abode, supreme person are not different states and existences. The words are different but they mean the same state in essence. That which is signified in the previous verse by Supreme status and supreme abode, that state is actually the attainment of the Supreme person. What is the nature of that Supreme person and where does it reside? How is it possible to reach Him.
After creating the world the divine did not retire to some higher world away from this world and did seat Himself on some high throne in a higher world. He established Himself in this creation. Divine is immanent, resides in each and every particle; that is why whatever exists, exists in Him only. There is nothing apart from Him. In whom all beings exist and which pervades all-what a sweet sentence, this is, which can easily make one experience the intimacy with the Lord! The main attainment of worship and recitation of scriptures, singing of devotional songs and meditation, etc. is getting close to the Lord. The actual purpose of devotion is this only-a place close to that of the Lord! This is not meant in a physical sense but as a state of mental emotions.
Keep feeling repeatedly-when all exist in the Lord, when He has established everyone in Himself then how can I be far away from Him? I too am in Him, take pleasure from emotional intimacy that I am lying in the lap of that unlimited Supreme. During the period of worldly transactions this kind of feelings will take the mind away from dwelling in useless thoughts, and it helps maintain the connection of the mind with the Lord; the state of unswerving devotion will be automatically achieved. The mind should not wander elsewhere. The Gopal of the Gita does not desire to see the mind getting distracted nor is He ready to accept a scattered, wandering and unstable mind. He is the absolute power, absolute incarnation and has desires to possess the mind fully. He does not like that some part of the mind should be with Him and the other part somewhere else and also sometimes in Him and sometime elsewhere. That is why in the Gita the word 'ananya' (single-pointed concentration) has been used repeatedly. Here even the state of His being one without a second has been made clear. When all is due to the Lord and exists in Him and He pervades all, then tell your mind yourself that it should not engage in vain thoughts and concerns of other things. Thoughts should be focused on that which is all-pervading, is in all, is near to Me and is with Me always. This single-pointed thought process will enable one to reach and experience Him; have such faith. Try to test the inspiration from the Gita on the touchstone of faith. Splendid results await you! With these kinds of feelings and faith find further the uniqueness of the thoughts of the Gita.
