sadrsam cestate svasyah prakrterjnanavānapi
prakrtim yanti bhutani nigrahah kim karisyati

🕉 English Translation

📜 Translation English

All beings follow their nature which means that their actions are governed by their own nature. The man of knowledge also acts according to his nature. Then of what avail will be anyones restraint in this regard?

💬 Commentary English

The result of past actions in the form of accumulated impressions constitutes the nature of a person. This can also be termed as destiny. The birth is the expression of these accumulated impressions. In any case one will bear the result of destiny. The inner accumulated impressions which are already there, will definitely show their effect. Human life is meant for self-upliftment. By invoking the power of determination it is possible to achieve anything. Do not allow destiny to become a cause for indolence. Bhagirath brought the Ganga to the earth. The devoted wife Savitri could bring back her husband from the clutches of the Lord of Death. Umpteen examples illustrate the power of strong determination despite being subject to nature.
