💬 Commentary English

The Blessed Lord has narrated at length about Himself in the form of His glories; even then it is felt that Arjun's query that where and in what forms should I meditate, there can be much more besides this. This also has been indicated in the verse by the Lord; that whatever has been narrated to you in the form of My glories, that is only a summarized form i. e. there is much more to it. Shri Krishna is the Absolute, omnipresent Brahmn, a complete incarnation; incompleteness in any form is not acceptable to Him from any point of view nor does He have any interest in it! He is complete in Himself and describes completely too so that nothing may be omitted; that the answer to Arjun's question is also not left incomplete; that is why a direct indication-

The body is not beautiful in itself. What kind of beauty can be found in the aggregate of bones, flesh and skin? Beauty lies in the consciousness. On departure of consciousness from the body what state does it reach? Reflect! Similar is the state of the external nature! Whose is the juice in the fruit? Observe any fruit. Sweetness in that is caused by whom? Who is behind the greenery of trees or that of the complete beauty of Nature? A straight reflection on this! Qualities, beauty, grandeur and the power of strength, whether in us or can be seen in any one else, accept this reality that it is bestowed by the Lord. This is not sheer imagination but the ultimate reality. Accept it by giving thought to it! It will enhance your humility and feeling of gratefulness will be born towards the grace received from God! By developing the nature of seeing Him everywhere, ego, anger, envy, aversion, etc. burning propensities will subside; the thoughts will dwell in the divine naturally. This was the mental state of Arjun. He has acted as our representative by putting forward these queries before Lord Shri Krishna and has done us a good turn. Glory to Arjun for raising such questions and many salutations and eulogy to the preacher of the Gita, Lord Krishna, the supreme benefactor, for explaining in such a loving manner.

Now follows the conclusion of the chapter by the Blessed Lord with inspiration filled with sweetness and intimacy.
