📜 Translation English

O Arjun! Dwelling in the hearts of all beings I am the Self. I am also the beginning, middle and end as well of all beings.

💬 Commentary English

If embodied being is willing to be endowed, then the Lord is ever ready to bestow. Arjun displayed the emotional eagerness in his mind and 'Shri Bhagwan uvach'-the Lord's speech commenced; the Blessed Lord started revealing Himself thereafter. "Where and how should I meditate on You?" Arjun inquired. The Lord said that first of all understand this-

In all beings that are, I reside as the Self of them all. There is no discrimination, and no partiality either. 'Sarvabhutaashay'-I am seated in the hearts of all beings. Wherever the mind feels inclined, whosoever is being contemplated upon; then and there I reflect. In the form of consciousness it is the divine Himself residing in Him, owing to Him is the existence, attraction or relation of the form which is visible. Without the existence of the power of consciousness where will be the other's existence or importance?

When the Lord is present in all then He is in me too-this thought will remove egoism, will sever the connection with insentience and will establish the relationship with the Truth, Consciousness, Bliss which is the Lord; will make one experience closeness to the Supreme. The ensuing expression will deepen the thoughts of the divine-

'Ahamadisca madhyam ch bhutanamanta eva ch'

When beings were not then who existed, when they will go out of existence who will remain; if they are there in the present then due to whose power, energy and consciousness? Bodies will take form and disappear but who will be ever present? That is the Self or the Supreme Self! Develop such thoughts, turn your thoughts; in this direction! This is the Truth; accept it!
